Entertaiment is a word used to describe a wide variety of activities that keep people amused and diverted. It is an aspect of audience-centered commercial culture that can be found in many forms, from films and television to music and books. It is an ever-changing industry with a great deal of influence across a broad range of business sectors, including retail marketing and information technology. The word entertainment is derived from the Medieval Latin intertenere, from the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere or Indo-European root ten.
