What is Entertaiment?

Article about Entertaiment

The clown at a child’s birthday party, the Broadway theater show, or your friends fighting over the last potato chip are all forms of entertainment. Entertaiment is something that provides enjoyment or amusement, putting people in a different state of mind by removing them from their normal routines and surroundings. This can be done through movies, music, sports, games, or other social activities. The word comes from the Old French entretenir, which means to hold together or support. It’s also related to hospitality–when you entertain guests, you put them in a pleasant or agreeable state. It’s an art form that hits on the things our brains were shaped to respond deeply to.
