Entertaiment is a broader term than recreation, and it encompasses activities that are considered entertaining or amusing. It can be a form of art, such as the stories that are told in the professional world of storytelling and which have inspired composers like Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski to create musical adaptations; or it can be sport, like cooking or fencing that has evolved from being an activity in hunting or war to a spectator sport with global competitions. The connections between different forms of entertainment are reflected in the way that familiar themes and images can be re-used in new contexts, for example in the story of Scheherazade that has been adapted into films and video games.
