A wide variety of entertainments are available for all tastes, ranging from private and personal options such as watching pre-recorded films or attending parties adapted to any size of group; to cultural and social activities such as ceremonies, celebrations, religious festivals, satire, and other public performances. Entertainments are often characterized by their ability to cross over different media and the capacity of a given theme, image, or structure to evolve and become reinvigorated with each creative remix. Although entertainment is generally associated with amusement, many of the activities that qualify as such may also serve other serious purposes, such as achieving insight or intellectual growth.
