Entertaiment means agreeable occupation of the mind; diversion; amusement: solving the crossword puzzle is entertainment for many people. It also refers to entertainment shows, movies and other cultural events that appeal to the senses and stimulate the brain to realease seratonin and dopamine. This is important, because it helps us to understand and cope with our complicated social world, a world that is full of backstabbing and murders and other themes that our brain was evolved to deeply react to, in order to survive and function.
