Definition: Entertainment is understood objectively, involves communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience for its existence and occurs in a passive form. It also requires the activity of a consumer and can be considered an economic good. According to Oliver and Bartsch (2010), entertainment can be defined as an activity which is perceived positively by a consumer.
