It can include a single person choosing their own entertainment from a variety of pre-recorded products, to a banquet adapted for two, to performances intended for thousands, and even for a global audience.

One of the most powerful forms of entertainment is storytelling. For example, the story of Scheherazade from Persian professional storytelling tradition has inspired many orchestral works (by Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and others), a film adaptation by Pasolini, and an innovative video game.
